DGM LiveA new three-CD set featuring a complete concert that King Crimson played in Vienna, Austria, in December 2016, plus some bonus recordings, will be released on April 6.
King Crimson Live in Vienna, December 1st, 2016 includes the prog-rock veterans’ career-spanning two-set performance on the first two discs, while the third CD contains the two songs played during the show’s encore — “21st Century Schizoid Man” and a cover of David Bowie‘s “Heroes.”
Disc three also features a rendition of “Fracture” — a song that the band hadn’t played live since 1974 — from a September 2016 concert in Copenhagen, Denmark. This will mark the first time a recorded version of “Fracture” has ever been released.
In addition, the third CD includes several new pieces created by editing together some of the improvised soundscapes recorded by King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp, bassist Tony Levin and woodwinds player Mel Collins that were played at the beginning of concerts on the 2016 tour.
King Crimson Live in Vienna comes packaged with a 16-page booklet featuring photos from the tour, as well as notes penned by longtime King Crimson producer David Singleton.
