34 Artists Who've Never Won a Grammy
Posted by Chris Dillon on 1/24/2014 10:07:00 AM.

With the Grammys coming up this Sunday, here's a list of artists who've never received one. And we're not counting those lame "lifetime achievement" Grammys, which some of these acts DID receive after a lifetime of being IGNORED . . .

Snoop Dogg, 16 nominations. He's up for Best Reggae Album this Sunday.

Brian McKnight, 16 nominations. He's an R&B singer, and tied with Snoop for the most nominations without a win.

Joe Satriani, 15 nominations

Martina McBride, 14 nominations

Bjork, 13 nominations

Nas, 13 nominations

Busta Rhymes, 11 nominations

Katy Perry, 9 nominations. But she has two nominations going into Sunday, so maybe she'll drop off the list.

Tupac Shakur, 7 nominations

Public Enemy, 6 nominations

Queens of the Stone Age, 6 nominations. Like Katy Perry, they also have two chances to get off this list on Sunday.

Depeche Mode, 5 nominations.

Nicki Minaj, 4 nominations

The Notorious B.I.G., 4 nominations

Guns N' Roses, 3 nominations

Oasis, 3 nominations

Justin Bieber, 2 nominations

Patti Smith, 2 nominations

Journey, 1 nomination

Kiss, 1 nomination

Meanwhile, several artists never won a Grammy, but were handed Lifetime Achievement Awards. Here they are . . . along with the year the Grammys FINALLY realized their error and recognize them . . .

Jimi Hendrix, 1992

Little Richard, 1993

Buddy Holly, 1997

The Who, 2001

Bob Marley, 2001

Janis Joplin, 2005

The Doors, 2007

The Ramones, 2011, after most of them were DEAD. Thanks, Academy!

Diana Ross, 2012

And believe it or not, until this year, LED ZEPPELIN was only ever nominated for ONE Grammy. It was for Best New Artist in 1969, and they lost to Crosby, Stills & Nash.

But they have TWO nominations this year, for their live album "Celebration Day", which was recorded in 2014. And they got a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2005.

These artists not only never WON a Grammy . . . they were never even NOMINATED: The Kinks, The Strokes, The Talking Heads, The Velvet Underground.
